Samsung New Millennium Hourglass in Jeondongjin. Built to commemorate the start of the new Millennium, unveiled on the first day of 2000. The hourglass is more than 26 feet in diameter and contains eight tons of sand taking exactly one year for the sand to move from the upper chamber to the lower. The hourglass is rotated at midnight on December 31 attracting thousands of people to the area to celebrate the beginning of a new year.
